importantInformation ALERT: Due to strong rip tides from Tropical Storm Hermine, all Long Island ocean beaches will be closed to swimmers Sunday 9/4 and Monday 9/5. Please check back for updates or contact the park directly. The campground remains open. Each year the campground makes every effort to provide safe swimming opportunities by testing the water and by keeping the swimming areas staffed with lifeguards. Please be aware that if the safety of our swimmers is compromised, due to lack of lifeguard coverage or water quality issues, swimming will be prohibited and therefore cannot be a guaranteed activity. We apologize for this inconvenience as it may occur with little advance notice. See HERE for all current swimming closures! IMPORTANT: New York State Parks encourages everyone to be safe outdoors. Please take a few moments to read about the health risks associated with tick bites and some simple steps you can take to safeguard you and your family. http://www.governor.ny.gov/press/04092014Ticks To insure fairness for all NY customers, any reservation with departure dates outside the 9-month Maximum Window can not be changed or cancelled until 18 days after the reservation was made. The camper must be 21 years of age or older to reserve and occupy a site. Alcoholic beverages are not permitted. Each site has a maximum of two tents per site and 6 people. Campers must check in and set up by 9 p.m. or risk losing the reservation. No tents allowed in the trailer sections (any site numbers that start with a `T`). There is a 14 day maximum stay at the park. After 14 consecutive days camper must leave for 48 hours. A second car is not allowed to enter campground to load or unload equipment. The car must be parked in the parking lot. There is a fee charged the first night for up to 14 days. Pets are not allowed at the park. Water for drinking is located throughout the camp. All campfires must be in metal containers above ground. Bring your own barbeque or metal fire container. Firewood is for sale at the park. No rugs, mats allowed on grass. Each site has a picnic table. The campground recycles newspaper and cardboard. Pools are not allowed anywhere in park. During July & August movies are shown every Wednesday & Saturday, line or square dancing every Friday night. Also available is twelve miles of marked trails, basketball courts, ball fields, playgrounds and more. FALL FESTIVAL is in September The park has 2 miles of beach on the Long Island sound for fishing and swimming. Peak Season: During peak season, a camping party and their equipment may occupy a site for a maximum of 14 continuous days. After which, the camping party and equipment must leave the site and facility for 2 days before registering again for another site.
